Particle System

particle simulation particle system

Published: 2007
Platforms: Windows

Particle System is a particle simulation of five different effects: fire, rain, snow, fireworks and tornado. All the effects have been created using several emitted textured particles. To achieve this, I programmed a very simple particle engine with C++, SDL and OpenGL.

The simulations were very quickly made (one evening) and thus they do not look too realistic, but, still, the particle system shows the capabilities of particle effects. Due to poor design and bugs, the effects are very machine-dependent and can look horrible (even absent) in some machines. This is what happens if you quickly just want to make something which looks good in the assistant’s machine. :)

Particle System was a school project of a computing science course in TKK in autumn 2007.
